Dentist @ Burswood is an emergency dentist for Burswood, Rivervale, Lathlain, Victoria Park, Belmont, East Perth, Kewdale and Carlisle. Call (08) 9361 2796 and we triage your case over the phone, then tell you if you need to be seen straight away, within two days or within a week. Urgent dental care is offered the same day when an appointment is available.
1. Call us
Tell us what's happening. A quick phone triage takes a couple of minutes.
2. We assess
We tell you exactly when to come in, based on how urgent it is.
3. Relief and a plan
We treat the pain first, then explain your options and pricing.
Severe toothache
Throbbing pain, pain that wakes you, or pain that pain relief doesn't touch.
Knocked-out tooth
An adult tooth knocked out. Replant it or keep it in milk and call straight away.
Broken tooth
A chip, crack or break, especially if it's sharp or painful. We repair broken teeth and broken crowns.
Dental abscess or swelling
Swelling in your gum or face, a bad taste, or a pimple on the gum.
Lost filling or crown
A gap that's sensitive or sharp, or a crown that has come off. Keep the crown if you have it.
Broken denture
A cracked or snapped denture you can't eat or speak with.
If swelling in your face is affecting your breathing, swallowing or vision, go to your nearest hospital emergency department straight away.
Toothache
Take pain relief as directed on the packet, rinse with warm salty water and avoid very hot or cold food. Don't put aspirin on your gum.
Knocked-out tooth
Hold it by the crown, not the root. Rinse briefly in milk and push it back into the socket if you can. Otherwise keep it in milk and come in within 30 minutes.
Broken tooth
Rinse with warm water, keep any pieces, and use a cold compress on your cheek for swelling.
Bleeding
Bite firmly on clean gauze or a damp tea bag for 15 minutes. If it doesn't stop, call us.
